What is the General Dental Scheme (GDS)?
The General Dental Scheme (GDS) allow eligible South Australian's to access subsidised dental treatment from participating private dentists. If you hold a current concession card and are referred by SA Dental, you can choose to receive care at our clinic.
GDS covers:

How it works - Step By Step
Eligible adults who hold a current Health Care Card or pensioner card and are approved by SA Dental may receive a form.
The GDS form is only valid for treatment on natural teeth, not dentures.
Some procedures are fully covered by the GDS form, while others require a co-payment up to the maximum listed in your form.
What To Bring To Your Appointment
To ensure a smooth visit, please bring:
- your current GDS form
- your current concession or healthcare card
- Any relevant medical information
- Payment for any applicable fees outlined on the form
Please check the date on your card/s to make sure they are still valid.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact our clinic.
If Your GDS Form Expires
If your GDS form expires before you complete treatment, we must stop treatment until you get a new form from SA Dental.
